Tradition: Sorcery Base Difficulty: Average (2) Modifiers: None Final Difficulty: Average (2) Duration: 1 Combat Resistance: Potency vs. Willpower
This spell creates strands of Weave energy that trap the arms and legs of a target within 25 feet. The actual entanglement can look like anything ranging from glowing tendrils rising from the ground to webbing to magical manacles. Regardless of appearance, the target can resist the initial entanglement with a Willpower resistance roll against the Spell Potency. If successful, the snare dissipates immediately.
If entangled, the target is considered grappled (see page 177) and must succeed in an opposed Strength roll against the Spell Potency to free himself (taking up his next action). Although made of energy, the entanglement is tangible and can be affected by outside forces – treat them as if made of heavy rope.
The target can still speak and can hop around with a Move Rating of 1. While entangled the character cannot use their Active Defense.
Extra Successes: 1: Entangle an additional opponent 1: Increase Spell Potency 1: Tie someone to an tree or post 1: Cover mouth and completely immobilize 1: Make strands intangible; use Willpower to break free, no outside help 2: Squeeze target for 1 point of Damage per round (Potency vs. Strength to resist)
