Post Desolation: Journeys, Before & After now available
CLEVELAND, OH — Greymalkin Designs released Desolation: Journeys, Before & After, at Gen Con Indy this year. The second supplement to Desolation, the post-apocalyptic fantasy roleplaying game, Journeys expands upon the rules of the core book that allow players and game masters to role play before the Night of Fire ruined the high fantasy world of Scondera.

Journeys, a 144-page softcover book, contains new rules for casting spells before the Apocalypse twisted the world's magical energy and made it dangerous to use magic. It also includes dozens of new magic items that were commonplace before the Apocalypse, as well as equipment values for the Before, when gold and silver still meant something. New archetypes and talents appropriate for the world as it once was are also included.

Journeys allows players to experience the high magic, culture and commerce of the Before, so they can better understand what is lost as they play through the Apocalypse, the year-long winter and into what's left of the world. The supplement contains guidelines to help players create characters before the Apocalypse, as well as rules to help game masters reward players whose characters survive the Night of Fire and Long Winter. Players who role play before, during and after the Apocalypse have the option of learning new skills and talents to help them survive, and can take flaws their characters developed during their ordeals.

The new supplement also contains eight full scenarios that can be played individually or as an extended campaign. The scenarios begin before the Night of Fire and allow characters to experience the chaos and destruction of the Apocalypse. Characters struggle to survive the Long Winter and then begin to rebuild. They then journey out into the shattered world to gather allies to help defeat new threats in the After. The scenarios include many non-player characters and new community statistics, as well as new monsters and magic items.
