Noticed that the Cestus has a Dif of 1 (making it more common and easy to find than even an everyday item). I'm guessing that it's supposed to be Dif 4, as I don't imagine that nearly everyone carries one.

Having finally made it to the Equipment chapter in the book, I think I can answer this one.

The key here is to understand that the "cestus," as defined in the description, is not the armored gauntlet that normally comes to mind. The weapon referred to is basically a strip of toughened leather wrapped around the wearer's fist, with perhaps metal studs or spikes attached, not unlike what some Thai boxers have been known to use.

With that in mind, you can easily using a Dif of 1 (and a weight of .5 lb.), since something like that is not to hard to create or find.

I wanted to chime in real quick and echo what Nestor said - we weren't imaging it being terribly elaborate - but I don't disagree that it should probably rarer than a 1.
