Post The Dancing Plague
I ran across this and thought it could have been straight out of a Desolation campaign -- except that it really happened.

From the article:

He said the dancing plague "tells us much about the extraordinary supernaturalism of late medieval people, but it also reveals the extremes to which fear and irrationality can lead us."

Creepy stuff, but good scenario fodder.

Oh, this is the stuff about that business that began wtih Frau Troffea in Stasbourg, France, isn't it? <pauses to go to check the link> YES!! I had wondered if I was ever going to be able to do something with "The Dancing Plague" in a fantasy rpg again (I did something with it in the old DragonQuest rpg that I ran), and now I have my chance. Just have to wait until my new laptop shows up, as I work on stuff for rpgs on that machine, not this one.

Thanks for pointing us to the link on this one. I had forgotten all about it! :)
