Old World Stuff
Hullo, folks,
One of the things I am somewhat curious about...
How much of the old technology and other items have survived the Night of Fire? I haven't heard anything to this point about what the Apocalypse *was* per se, and was interested in stuff like artifacts, relics, and whether the old technology and knowledge is still out there.

Hi John,
Good question. That's actually a significant component of the game. Some magic items and other useful artifacts do survive the Night of Fire. Those items are rare and highly sought after. They'll also be dangerous to own, since there will be many desperate "have nots." I don't think I reveal too much by saying Scavenge will be a very useful skill to have in Desolation.

Hullo, Jamie,
I had wondered about how much of a role this sort of thing was going to play in DESOLATION, simply because it's such an element in many post-apocalyptic games out there, but I had also figured that you guys would put a different spin on it.
Scavenge skill, huh? Interesting...
