 The Map, please.
What's the scale of the map in the core book? I'm looking to expand on the area under the "m" in "Empire" and I would like to know how much space I've got to play with.

Scale's right on the map, sir. Look on the upper right, under "The Lands of Scondera". Looks like 1 inch = 400 miles.

 Re: The Map, please.
Of course... the apocalypse could have added (or subtracted) landmass... so, fit in whatever you need to fit in. Just because there wasn't an enormous salt lake Before doesn't mean there isn't one now (for example). As I drove home from Gen Con, I realized that we missed a great opportunity to create a map of the After. We participated in the Cheese Weasel promotion which had lots of people coming to our booth to get a little card punched. Other vendors were forcing these people to play demos, do little dittys, etc... before getting their card punched (we forced them to listen to a sales pitch). What I wished we had done was fill a fishbowl full of landscape features and made each person draw a map on some scratch paper of different sizes. Like: village to north, lake, broken road, etc. At the end, we could have pieced them together and had a map as if it were assembled by different explorers who had each only seen a tiny part of the new world - like something you might in a trading post in the After. Maybe next year we can put the piecemeal cartography into action...

Brilliant!
Matt, that is a brilliant idea! A day late and a dollar short, but truly inspired.

Agreed. That's just the sort of thing to spark interest in the game.
Keep it in mind for next year.

Alright, smartarse. I only had the PDF in front of me and I wasn't looking at that page. And it's on the top-left, anyway.

 Re: The Map, please.
What can I say? I'm left-handed. -2 to all Navigation rolls. But Matt does have a point. The whole idea is that the world of Scondera was physically changed during the Night of Fire. So you can have the terrain look like anything you want without it causing any potential continuity issues. You could plant a small sea right in the middle of the continent if you so desired.

On a related note... Are there Campaign Cartographer files available for these maps? No great worries if there aren't - haven't had much of a chance to play with that software yet...

 Re: The Map, please.
I actually made a version in Campaign Cartographer at some point. I'll look for the file. It may be slightly different since that was very, very early in the game.

 Re: The Map, please.
I would be very interested in any version of the After map you Desolation creators have floating about...
PS: doesn't matter if it isn't even used by you all the time,if you haven't decided that its 'canon' etc I'm just curious
