Post subject:  Q. Rover "Exotic" talent

Question: Does the Rover's "Exotic" racial talent work, even when the Rover is disguised?

Quote:
pg 70:
Exotic: Receive one extra die whenever you spend Style points
on Charisma-based rolls, above and beyond the extras you
would normally receive.

For example, a Rover is disguised as an Ascondean noble (hiding racial tattoos, wearing more regal garb). As the Rover approaches an Soldier - he needs to fast-talk his way past. Can the Rover spend a Style Point on the Chr + Con roll, and receive +2 dice?

Thanks!

Interesting. The exotic ability was intended to be used to convey the Rovers' sense of mystery to non-Rovers. Their culture, appearance, speech, bearing and rumors of their abilities are so alien from what most other races have encountered that Rovers are at a social advantage.

I would not let the Exotic racial ability work while disguised unless the Rover were disguised as something equally "exotic." In your example, a noble may indeed be unusual enough to common soldier that the case could be made for the bonus. If the soldier has met other nobles (is less "starstruck," as it were) then, no. But, if he's a common mook, then I'd let the player have the bonus.

Thank you for the quick reply. That is how I would rule it in my campaign, just wanted to see if there was anything official : )

Peace,
