Google is your friend. I just went to Images and typed in "orc". ;)

Here's the full-blown picture:

He needs a name. "Buttercup" just doesn't really cut it.

LOL!! "Buttercup"? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Nah, how about something like "Stryke"? (One of my favourite characters out of Stan Nicholls's Orcs: First Blood trilogy of books.)

(Btw, Jamie, Matt, if you're reading this post, I did not get a notification of Nestor's reply to me. The system may still be glitchy.)

Nestor, My son just named a stray cat that we've kind of adopted Buttercup. *grin*

Hey, it's a great name to give an orc. It then becomes people's famous last words:

"Your name is Buttercup? BWAHAHAHA!!!" SKRUNTCH!

One of my favorite scenes in River of the Dancing Gods is when our barbarian hero gets to name one of the last unnamed magic swords and decides to call it Irving, after his son. :D

Wasn't Buttercup one of the Trolls in "The Tenth Kingdom"?

Not a movie, a book. :)

It's the first one in a series and, IMO, the best one of the lot. The rest suffer somewhat of sequelitis. :P

I think you're remembering Blue Bell.

Not that I could be sure. I just read the IMDB entry. ;)

Check - email notification seems wonky again. *sigh*

On the plus side - we now have anti-spambot protection. New users will be activated much, much quicker.

I am in the process up writing up the orc section of Surviors... should I add a section for a tradition of orcs being forced to take that invokes laughter if they suffer a humiliation? :)

:?

Say again?

Oh, you mean that if an orc makes a mistake, he has to do something humiliating as penance? That actually could work, and is not that far-fetched. :)

I remember in Castle Falkenstein the fact that there were no female dwarves. All dwarves were the product of a dwarf male and a fairy female. And the mothers got to name their offspring.

So you had these gruff, surly dwarves walking around with names like Sunflower and BlueBlossom.

It'd be amusing to come up with something similar as an in-joke for Desolation. Then you could have the village being threatened by the evil Oruskan warband leader, Kissyfur.
