Post Anyone Got Survivors Yet?
Hullo, folks,

Since GenCon Indy 2009 is well under way, has anyone seen the Survivors supplement for DESOLATION yet? Anyone bought the book?

If so, tell me (and the other folks here on the forums) about it. Since I'm not at GenCon, inquiring minds want to know. Please. :)

I have it! I have it right here in front of me. Unfortunately, I can't read it right now as I'm too damn busy! Curse you GamesLore for delivering today!

If you listen closely, you can hear it calling to you...

"Reeeaaaddd meeee!"

I'm a baaaaaad boy.

Enjoy it when you get to it, sir. It's well worth the wait. :D

Tomorrow afternoon. It's set aside for reading once the kids are down for their nap.

First (brief) pass through... Survivors is one of the best sourcebooks I've read in recent years. I'm used to the first sourcebook out being a solid one (Secrets of the Surface World set the bar on that one a couple of years back, Unhallowed Necropolis is just gorgeous) but this is above and beyond.

The detailed treatment of the various Oruskan races is very good (I'm running out of superlatives here!). I've been a fan of the leopard seal look of these creatures since I saw them in the core book, but tying them in to the cold and the ice is just superb - Kobolds especially!

The new skills/talents/flaws/magical paths expand beautifully on the core.

And then the communities section. Wow. Just, wow. Chariman? Cynosure was just the source of ideas I was looking for.

The final cherry on the top? The bestiary. The minotaur. The weave-touched critters.

Guys, this is fantastic work. Now what's next?

Oh yeah, Cynosure.

Y'know, it didn't even hit me that it could tie in with your campaign idea. Heh. Oh, the evil thoughts that brings to mind...

Dammit, Imajica, now I want to start playing even more. Get crackin'! :D

Shoot, girl, if I'd known, I would've made sure you picked up a copy on Sunday. ;)

Now all we can do is point and laugh. :D

Indeed, my funds did not hold up well at GenCon. :)

Cynosure gives me a fantastic starting point for what would happen to a city under a strong leader during and after the Night and the subsequent winter. Windfall's also such a superb idea! I haven't finished on the Communities section yet.

Nestor, I'm working on it. Another few weeks and I should (hopefully) be ready for a casting call.

Anyone know if they are shipping to individual orders, yet? I ordered mine form the Greymalkin website and have yet to receive it. Just wondering if it is sent via slow rowboat and moped, or if they have not yet shipped web orders?

Yours was mailed on 9/2, Carl. It was received in Richmond yesterday and is "currently in route to the destination." Send an email to sales@greymalkindesigns.com if you don't get it today or tomorrow.

Wow! Now THAT is great service! Ask, and you get a reply you want to hear!

Thanks!
